Anthony Mackie is back at it, as the actor isn’t biting his tongue when it comes to Marvel, this time commenting on perceived comparisons between President Donald Trump and the Red Hulk, played by Harrison Ford in the upcoming Captain America: Brave New World.
Mackie recently found himself in trouble when he threw America under the bus. He told fans in Rome, Italy that Captain America doesn’t represent America. Following the controversy, Mackie released a statement stating he is a proud American and respects the armed forces.
In the interview with Esquire where Mackie and Chris Evans revealed Evans isn’t returning to Marvel, the outlet also asked about comparisons between the Red Hulk and Trump, which saw Mackie drop a couple of expletives.

Mackie replied to the questioning:
“I hope, as a country, we’re tired of all the political jousting. Let’s just go to the movies and chill the fuck out. We could’ve made this motherfucker yellow and it would’ve been a problem.”

Rumors have also said that Captain America: Brave New World has undergone massive reshoots. Mackie again addresses and downplays the claims:
“It’s literally the best movie it can be. It stays in the lines of Marvel. It stays in the lines of Captain America, and it’s fun and it’s big. Every movie that Marvel has made, every movie that DC has made—Star Wars, Star Trek, Disney—has done reshoots.”
Mackie previously told Empire Magazine:
“It wasn’t retooled at all. Every Marvel movie I’ve done has done reshoots, so it’s not retooling or remaking. You basically get the movie and the story you want, you edit it together, then go back and shoot a few more scenes.”
Captain America: Brave New World gets released on February 14, 2025.
