Stephen Amell has released the first teaser for the Baywatch reboot on social media, and yes, the slow-motion beach run is back.
The Arrow star shared the footage on Instagram with the caption, “I dream in slow motion.”
The teaser gives fans their first real look at the new Fox series, with Amell hitting the beach in classic Baywatch style. The teaser also features Brooks Nader and Livvy Dunne in the franchise’s red lifeguard look. Watch below.
Baywatch Returns With Stephen Amell
Amell stars as Hobie Buchannon, the grown-up son of David Hasselhoff’s Mitch Buchannon from the original series.
The reboot is set for Fox and is expected to premiere in January 2027. The new series brings Baywatch back as a modern update of the lifeguard drama, while still leaning into the imagery that made the original a global hit: red swimsuits, beach rescues, and slow-motion running.

Erika Eleniak’s return as Shauni McClain gives the reboot a direct connection to the early years of the franchise.
David Chokachi is also back as Cody Madison, which gives the new series another familiar face for longtime fans.
Amell also recently joked on TikTok that they could never replace David Hasselhoff.
The original Baywatch aired from 1989 to 2001 and became one of the most recognizable TV brands of the ’90s, helped by stars including Hasselhoff, Pamela Anderson, Carmen Electra, and Eleniak.

The new Baywatch looks to mix legacy characters with a younger cast, including Livvy Dunne, Brooks Nader, Noah Beck, Jessica Belkin, Hassie Harrison, and Shay Mitchell.
Mitchell plays Trina, described as a lawyer-turned-lifeguard, and recently said filming the series in the iconic red swimsuit felt “surreal.”
With Amell leading the reboot as Hobie Buchannon, Fox is clearly betting on nostalgia while giving Baywatch a new cast built for 2027.
