Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2026 Winners: My Hero Academia Wins Anime Of The Year

Crunchyroll has revealed the winners of the 2026 Crunchyroll Anime Awards, with My Hero Academia FINAL SEASON taking home Anime of the Year.

The tenth annual Anime Awards took place Saturday, May 23, 2026, at the Grand Prince Hotel Shin Takanawa in Tokyo.

Crunchyroll said more than 73 million votes were cast by fans around the world, setting a new record for the awards show.

My Hero Academia Final Season

My Hero Academia Wins Anime Of The Year

The night’s top award went to My Hero Academia FINAL SEASON, which was named Anime of the Year.

The Weeknd presented the award during the ceremony. Crunchyroll described him as a global icon and longtime anime fan.

The win comes as My Hero Academia reaches its final season, with the anime continuing to be one of the biggest titles in the medium.

Demon Slayer

Demon Slayer Wins Film Of The Year

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle won Film of the Year.

The movie also picked up other wins, including Best Score for Yuki Kajiura and Go Shiina. Akaza was also a major presence across the voice acting categories, with multiple international performers winning for the role.

Dragon Ball

Tatsuya Nagamine Honored With Global Impact Award

Crunchyroll also honored late director Tatsuya Nagamine with the Global Impact Award.

Nagamine is known for his work across major anime franchises including Dragon Ball Super, ONE PIECE, PreCure, and Ojamajo Doremi.

Masayuki Sato accepted the award on Nagamine’s behalf. Sato worked closely with Nagamine on several projects, including Happiness Charge PreCure! and ONE PIECE.

Solo Level 2

Big Night For Solo Leveling, Gachiakuta, And The Apothecary Diaries

Solo Leveling Season 2 -Arise from the Shadow- won Best Action and Best Animation.

Gachiakuta won Best New Series, Best Background Art, and Best Character Design.

The Apothecary Diaries season 2 also had a strong showing, winning Best Drama, Best Director, Best Main Character for Maomao, and Best Voice Artist Performance in Japanese for Aoi Yuki as Maomao.

Performances And Presenters

The ceremony was hosted by voice actress Sally Amaki and entertainer Jon Kabira, who returned for their fourth year.

The show featured a large lineup of presenters, including Asuka Saito, BamBam, Enako, Kasumi Arimura, Rashmika Mandanna, RZA, TEN, Winston Duke, Young Miko, and others.

The night also included performances tied to major anime milestones. Yoko Takahashi performed a 30th anniversary tribute to Neon Genesis Evangelion with “A Cruel Angel’s Thesis.” PORNOGRAFFITTI performed in honor of My Hero Academia’s 10th anniversary and conclusion. ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION performed “Haruka Kanata,” the second opening theme from NARUTO.

The top engaged countries, listed alphabetically, were Brazil, Germany, India, Mexico, and the United States.
